Claire’s Pyro Mom Returns for Season 3

Good news, fans of Jessalyn Gilsig, who plays Claire Bennet’s biological mother from Heroes Season 1, and who was sorely missing entirely from Season 2. According to TV Guide, Gilsig will be reprising her role as Claire’s pyro mom, Meridith Gordon, for not one, or two, but five episodes in Season 3.

Casting scoop! Sources confirm to me exclusively that Jessalyn Gilsig is reprising her role as Claire’s white-trash mom for five episodes next season.
I could have done without calling Meredith Gordon’s character “white trash”, though. That sounds a tad insulting to me. But then again, I’m sure Ausiello is a West Coast elitist who thinks anyone who doesn’t live in California are rednecks.
But I digress.
Meredith Gordon and her groovy power is back. Woohoo! Lets hope Kring lets her do more than just show it off to her daughter this time. I’d like to see what someone with that kind of power could do against, say, Sylar…

holy freakin awesome! As little as they showed her character in season 1, I still really liked her…when she first said the “some family” line i got chills.
I wonder how her character will unfold in season 3..could she be introduced as one of the new villains and end of battling her own daughter?! hmm..or could she be a good guy and become the reason Sylar has his pyro powers in the future?? who knowsss! I can’t wait for the new season to start :]

I knew they would have to bring her back, but in what capacity? I mean in Season 1 did she really care about Clare? Wasn’t it more about blackmail? I don’t think she will be a hero or villain.
But like the company, she will be more morally grey.

I’m wondering if they will cover how she escaped Claude and HRG. There has been speculation that Claude let her go and the fire was a cover.

Benjamin, I got chills as well and that was one of the first episodes I ever saw! Well, anyway, I am supremely happy that Claire’s mother is back, and I would like to see her join the other ranks of Heroes!

Wow that is great! But Xericho I think that wouldn’t be too cool >_>. I’m more up on the idea of either her working for the company or for Evs Droppr for being a spy against the company. Or a villain, like Sylar. Maybe even getting killed by Sylar. Those would all be AWESOME.

clair should develope her mothers power , since the policeman is developing his fathers power!!!! just makes sense fire can’t hurt her and it would be a awsome power for clair to defend herself and rely less on others to protect her, I hope her pyro mom kicks some butt and makes the company back off clair and sylar would have to think twice about going after her!!!! where is peters irish girlfriend going to fit into all this, she sure is a beautiiful girl friend for peter but no super powers, nickie would be better for peter, I bet together they would be unstopable!!!!!!!

Jessalyn Gilsig {Meredith} is a great actress. I can’t wait to see her in action again. I think either Sylar or Peter will get her fire power. I think she will make a great hero, teaming up with the likes of Peter, Nathan, Matt, Claire, Niki, Hiro & co to face Sylar, Adam, Knox, Jesse & the new powerful villains that are locked up in level 5 of Primatech. That wud be awesome! I wonder if Meredith can or will use her fire powers like Marteen in that Heroes Graphic Novel: Team Building Exercise?
On a side note, I wanna see Sylar use his ice powers more often & how did he survive in the Season 1 finale when Hiro stabbed him if he hasn’t got Claire/Adam’s Rapid cellular regeneration powers yet!
