A Major Character from Season 1 Will Die This Season – UPDATED
The deaths keep on coming. According to Kristin over at E! Online, a major death is about to hit Heroes Season 4. Kristin hints that it will be a male character who has been on the show since Season 1, and that his death will definitely “leave a mark”, which means the death won’t be that of a minor character. She gives some hints, saying this about the pic below:

However, I will tell you that this leading character is a male, and he is not necessarily pictured above. (He might be, he might not be.) And he is one of the original cast.
So who is missing from the pic above? Peter, Nathan, and Sylar. Who is present? Matt, Mohinder, Ando, and Hiro. So where does that leave us? Some thoughts:
1) Hiro is already supposedly dying, so it doesn’t make sense that his “death” would be a “water cooler moment” as Kristin puts it. Since we’ve been hearing about it, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise.
2) Mohinder? We haven’t seen him at all season. Will he show up only to be killed off? Again, I’m not sure if his death would really “leave a mark” on the show, as he’s been completely absent from this season.
3) Sylar? If Sylar really were to die, it would have the most impact on the show. To be honest with you, with all the movie offers he’s getting after “Star Trek”, I’m stunned Zachary Quinto is still a regular on Heroes. Maybe that’s about to change…
So who do you think will die, and will they actually stay dead? This is Heroes, after all, where dying is sometimes just a minor inconvenience.
UPDATE:
So is the death on Heroes also the same death that Michael Ausiello was talking about in his own EW column? Here’s what Ausiello said:
A male series regular on a one-hour drama — a onetime ratings powerhouse — learned that he was out of a job only after reading his character’s death scene in the script! According to my mole, the popular and well-respected leading man — who tapes his final scenes this week — was blindsided not just by his ouster, but by the tacky way in which it was handled. “He was hurt that the producers didn’t tell him first,” says the source. “He deserved better.” The real surprise is that, well, anyone was surprised at all. The actors on said show have long been frustrated by the lack of communication coming from the front office. Still, as the insider points out, “This was low even for them.”
Is Ausiello talking about the same death on Heroes as Kristin? Both were published on the same day, so it does seem likely, only Ausiello went the more coy route, while Kristin came right out and said Heroes.
In any case, if Ausiello is talking about the same death on Heroes, and considering his hints, who do you think was fired/killed off the show?
